Great teen drama. Crispin Glover was very good, if not a bit over-the-top. Keanu was solid. Dennis Hopper was creepy. The Keanu character's 12-year-old brother was excellent.
Nick99, I also want to bring up (regards to Crispin Glover), I remember also as a teenager, my friend & I listened to KROQ, LA based station w/New Wave music back then, had Crispin Glover on there quite a few times, & remembered one show, I guess he gave out his telephone number (??????), and she actually dialed it & it was his voice on a recorded message....I remember it was so creepy & dark, (and no, were weren't doing drugs or drinking...we did this at my parents house, w/the old folks there, monitoring us), Wow those were pretty interesting times......

I like that movie too, they are always showing it on cable...gotta love the 80's, the last era I think that had substance...
90's however did offer Nirvana & Kurt Cobain (among others I'm forgetting)...
^^ great story, agent starling! I've seen Glover in interviews, he always seemed like a very likeable guy, despite the dark persona. His speed freak character, Lane, in River's Edge, for me is the epitome of his career.

Yea that was by far his best performance, I love his dark persona, I truly believe this guy is the underdog of actors, he deserves far more recognition.....Even though I hated Charles Angels movies, he was the only reason I watched it. Don't get me wrong, I love Drew Barrymore, another great pre-teen 80's movie ET... & then her issues caught up w/her and damn look how awesome she turned out.
Anyhow, glad to see he's still active in filming...

And who better than Drew Barrymore to appear in what I think is the best non-80s movie, that was set in the 80s. I'm talking about The Wedding Singer.
Another movie, I don't think was mentioned: Pretty In Pink.
One more: The Blob, 1988 b-movie sci-fi horror remake starring Kevin Dillon
