This issue of the KHJ Top Thirty from Aug. 14, 1973 shows it in the #18 position at 12 weeks on the list...

I guess the problem for me with nailing down 70s dates is that time keeps on slippin' into the future. Lookit what's # 1 on that chart - Brother Louie. Now that one I would have no problem placing in the summer of '73 thanks to a certain female from back in the day. It took me more than a minute to recall her name however.

Well, for some reason, some songs are easier to remember the year than others.
For instance, I don't think I'll ever forget that "Miracles" by The Jefferson Starship is from 1975, but there are other songs from that year which I can't remember if it's from '75 or '76.

Some are easy to remember the year and some aren't (for some reason).

It would be kind of fun to post another KHJ chart... any particular year you would like to see? (1972-1980)

Mel & Tim - Keep The Faith
Photographs and Memories/Operator- Jim Croce
Distant Lover/Angel/Lovin You Baby- Marvin Gaye
Summer Breeze- Seals and Crofts
Let's Stay Together-Al Green
The Weight-The Band
I've Got So Much Love To Give-Barry White
Bernadette-Four Tops
David Ruffin- I Miss You
Diana Ross & The Supremes-Reflections
Maggie May-Rod Stewart
Bobby Womack-That's The Way I Feel About 'Cha
0'Jays-Cry/Brandy/Backstabbers
Aretha Franklin- Till You Come Back To Me

My list is much longer. It would take me a month to list them all. What a great decade for music! I would say only the 60s rival it.

GoddessofRandomThoughts....you mentioned Brothers Johnson and that reminded me of the first music video i ever remember as this came on tv before MTV on sone independant network back in 1980 and that song was ''Stomp''. Although i'm a 80's rocker and also like some 80's new wave that old skool R&B song was cool.

YouTube - Brothers Johnson Stomp
