I can see how they might come across depressing, lol, but I guess for me the lyrics and music really grip a hold of my heart with so much feeling and passion...to me their music really encompasses the emotions and feelings we feel. To me I see it as contemplative and searching...for answers and meaning in life. Then again I kind of have a penchant towards the melancholy and dreamlike qualities of music and art. It's funny that their first album is called "Dreaming Out Loud." And this one is "Waking Up." Thanks for sharing that! And now to make sure I'm sharing music....

Speaking of dreamlike...

Thank you for the follow up post, Lyra.
I found some great critical thinking in the analysis of your taste in music and art. "Contemplative and searching." How beautiful.
Loved your last video! Thank you so much for sharing that one.
I believe that I almost understand your heart and feelings. Almost.
Please keep your good music coming, friend!

Default Collin Raye - If You Get There Before I Do/

I was just sitting here and realized 13 years ago today my youngest brother died in a car accident. Wow...so long ago but I can remember it like it was yesterday. The following songs have a lot of personal meaning to me. The first is a song my brother sang and recorded. He was pretty good! The second is a song I played at his funeral, my brother was pretty good at the piano and was learning some of the songs by Jon Schmidt.

All I can say...don't take people for granted, you never know how long they will be here. Tomorrow may be their last!

"If you get there before I do
Don't give up on me"
"And between now and then
until I see you again
I'll be loving you, love me"

Just want to tell you how sorry I am about the loss of your brother, Lyra.

I also lost one of my brothers to a tragic accident.

He was only 20 and played in a local jazz band. Like your brother, he was a talented young man.

The music that you posted for your brother is very nice. Thank you for telling us about him.

I'm not going to post anything else this evening. Was just turning off my computer when I noticed this from you.

My heart goes out to you and your family tonight.

~ Willow
