ARCADE FIRE! Love love how they won their award! And then they played out the show with "ready to start"!
Proof that good music can win out over craptastic music....

I have to go listen to the original recording of Evergreen so I can remember how it's supposed to sound.

I know Babs is up in age...

She should have allowed someone to rearrange her song because I thought she sounded as bad as Rihanna tonight.

I kind of felt the same. I'd heard they were really great, but it kind of didn't do much for me. Maybe I'm too old.

I'm pleased/intrigued "Carolina Chocolate Drops" won for Traditional Folk. I only know about them because this guy on the site for "Asimov's Science Fiction", a magazine, told me about them. They're better than I expected. (I mean if you're open to a kind of blues/bluegrass fusion type sound)

It nice to see a real band win some thing for a change over lady Gaga and M&N. The Academy might be sending a message

I thank God that they had Yolanda Adams on the tribute to Queen Aretha. The rest of those ladies could have stayed home.

Really? I agree Yolanda was great, but I thought Christina tore it UP! Jennifer was pretty good, FLorence had ONE good note, and Martina never should have been put in that group. It's not what she does, and it was wrong to set her up that way.

All in all, A great show. Eminem, Mumford and Sons and Arcade Fire were all electrifying. Loved seeing Mick do his thing, and the Usher/Bieber/Smith performance was great.

I love Lady Gaga, but that was just regurgitated Express Yourself. She's too talented for that. What a waste.

I have never understood what was so great about Jennifer Hudson anyway. Christina Agueilera(sp) was just ok. I have never heard of the Florence lady, and Martina was just ok. I would have personally chosen Fantasia Barrino to honor the Queen. But, what do I know. lol
