One of the worst pieces of music ever put to tape. The lyrics are delivered in the manner that a 47- year old white man in 1989 who was only familier with the form thanks to a Fruity Pebbles commercial would rap.
This song has to be the worst song I have ever heard on the radio. First of all it sounds like some lesbian feminist love poem about how men should be providers for women but keep their opinion to themselves. Second the lyrics don't even ad up to the beat scheme of the tune. Third it's gay in all aspects of the music industry. It literally sends the message to female listeners that they should break up with a guy if he ever expects or tells her to do something she doesn't want to do.
"Hey honey. Happy 20th anniversary! do you think tonight we could celebrate in the bedroom?"
"I don't feel like it."
"But baby it's our anniversary"
"Who cares if you disagree? You are not me. Who made you king of anything? Yes I am quoting the song you and all men hate with a passion. Now I'm filing for a divorce because Sara Bareilles said I should."
WTF? I hate this song much I don't just turn the radio off, I do that powerful finger wrist flick to make the point...even when it's just me in my car. I have come up with 1000 ways to puncture my ear drums with household objects just incase someone ever locks me inside with that song playing. I hate it so much that sometimes when I feel down I will listen to it just so my hate for it will run through my body thus giving me energy to hate it even more. I hate this song but I love to hate it. I enjoy hating this song!
