I've read somewhere that 25% of country fans listen almost exclusively to country music. It appears to me from witnessing people that other genres with very exclusive fan bases are hip hop (when I see a gangsta in a doo rag pull by blasting rap, I really don't picture this guy listening to anything else, call me stereotypical if you will!), Latin music (given that the base consists heavily of illegal immigrants who do not understand English lyrics anyway though the CHIDLREN of illegal aliens often also listen to rap/hip hop). I also have a number of friends whose car radio is set to the contemporary Christian station at all times. HOWEVER, many white kids listen to rap who also listen to other things and the American born children of illegals may listen to American music as well, even if only gangster rap and hip hop.
Based on YOUR observations, what is the most exclusive genre? I would actually go with classical music. Most of the people at an opera house or symphony I can't really also picture at a country concert, a rap show or an indie club.
