Painful in general, or for me because it means something? Either way............
My Heart Will Go On (Cleine Dion)
What a Wonderful World (Louie Armstrong) - because it was the song that I danced to at my wedding with my grandfather who is now gone for 7 years next week; I am the only granddaughter and had wanted a special dance for us
There You'll Be (Faith Hill)
I have to agree with what a wonderful world because I recently saw a show on pbs talking about the kennedys and the song was playing and they were showing all the kids , John jr , caroline all the kids and JFK and Jackie and I realized how many of those kids are passed on and what a shame .
I think my song would be "Seventeen " because I had a hs friend who was my best friend and she passed away very suddenly due to a ruptured appendix ,her family was not home when she died . It still haunts me to this day because we had just gotten through talking on the phone when she said her stomach was hurting and she was going to hang up and said bye . I never thought in a million years that would be the last time we saw each other alive or talk to each other . Life really is short .
I know it was meant to be a beautiful song written for his son that died but my brother was killed in an accident the same time that song came out and it just brings me back "there" and that song does not bring me comfort.
To add to the poignancy - it was released around the death of his very young son - who fell out of an open window of his NYC apt. Tragic.
