I escort the most beautiful lady in the world..my Mom back to our table.. the time past quickly it seems.. full of lafs & happiness & the kind of glow that lasts in your heart forever..
...music fades and we head back to the table...feeling like I am floating on air...sit down with Seth and his Mom...and laugh about things the boys have done...glance over at Jim...my heart just melts...looking at him...so grown up...smile...and I see how he'll be in a few years...shake my head of this vision...and join in the laughter...
We're laffin now.. with Seth & his Mom and other nearby tables.. I look at Mom.. and catch her eye.. o now they changed to such softness! .. we laf for nothin.. likin the way it sounded with the happy buzz of all the other Mother&son couples..
An announcer calls out another song & I jumped up.. racin to the dance floor sayin.. let's do it again Mommy! Dance the night away!!
...Jim jumps up as they call out another dance...holds his hand out...let's dance the night away...grab his hand...place my hand on his shoulder...his arm around my waist... look up into his eyes...and that makes a tear leak out...look up...and I'm wearing heels...my Baby has become a young man right before my eyes...smile up at him...and we dance...
(well not away since the dance lasts only an hour but still haaahaa!)
Mom.. do you feel really happy now? I asked.. I know I do & I'm glad we're alive & can feel & can have this memory.. aren't you?
...Jim asks me if I feel really happy...oh...how do you describe what I'm feeling...so happy...so proud...so grateful that I've been given this chance to be a Mommy...

hesistating just a little longer.. I extended the magic with all my senses..
then scoot over to Mom's side in the roomy limo bringin an arm
around her.. door closes with a solid thump & soon enough we are
whisked away..
an hour can be a lifetime of bliss.. I whisper to Mom.. kissin her cheek.. takin her hand in mine.. Happy Mother's Day Mom.. I Love You.. you looked so pretty tonight you took my breath away..
I din't even know girls could look so pretty.. or Moms .. or really notice til just this minute that
Moms are girls.. my mind starts flipping up like building a lego tower.. to the top girl of all.. Mom...
Jim who is sitting beside the most wonderful woman in the world .. & I thank the God of Love!
Walk out into the cool evening air...reflecting back on this evening...Jim puts his arm around my shoulder...place my head on his...make our way to the limo...driver opens the door...Jim steps aside for me to enter, and then Seth's Mom...he scoots in beside me...can't believe this evening is already ending...it went by so fast...a whirlwind of emotions hit me...as I put my head on his shoulder again...and tears start streaming down my face...I want this moment in time to stand still...but time doesn't stand still...it passes so quickly...and before you know it...your little Boy is a Man...I tell him what a wonderful time I had tonight...tell him how proud I am that he is my Son...tell him how much I Love him...
...limo pulls up to the house...hug and kiss Seth and his Mom goodnight...ask Jim to stay the night...I'll get up early if he needs to get back to campus...don't want the night to end just yet...stop and touch the worry tree...just by habit...as we walk by...remembering how many worries it held for us...and thankful there are so few now...stop, before we go in...have Jim sit down next to me on the porch...
...I just want you to know how very special you are to me...and how very much I Love you...and you'll always be my Baby...my Son...hug him close...thank you for the wonderful Mother's Day...
...arm in arm we get up...open the door...go inside...and turn off the porch light...we're Home...

Call her back up...oh...Baby Girl...they are SOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!...what a wonderful surprise!!!...well...I know...but I told Jim I'd act surprised!...ok...Love You Soo Much!...bye Baby...go to my meeting...come back and there is a message on my phone...ANOTHER delivery for ME??!! go downstairs again...and see a gorgeous arrangement...
...very beautiful organic arrangement in a black square...bamboo, palm leaves, green berries, carnations, and these beautiful purple orchids...
...women at work all gathering 'round to see...it's not your birthday...nope...it's Mother's Day!!! They all shake their heads...and I know they're thinking about all the flowers Daddy has sent me...and NOW her children, too!!!! ...I just smile and say what wonderful children I have...call Jim up...THEY'RE GORGEOUS...Thank you so much, Baby!!! What a wonderful surprise!!!
