I vote for real music played by actual musicians...
---------------------------------------------

the REAL MUSIC category would include:

1997: James Brown, ZZ Top, etc.

2005: Paul McCartney

2008: Tom Petty

2009: Bruce Springsteen

and others...

-----------------------------

the FAKE MUSIC (aka lip synching contests)

2012: Madonna etc. (marred by "middle finger" incident)

2004: Janet Jackson, etc. (marred by "wardrobe malfunction")

and others...
-------------------------------

It seems that after the "wardrobe malfunction" and now the "middle finger incident" - they would learn to go with the real music over the fake music in the future.

I don't think the finger incident has anything to do with lip-sync...

But the two unfortunate events did BOTH happen during lip-synching bubblegum disco-pop acts.

Some people might subscribe to the theory that if your hands are busy actually really playing a guitar or a keyboard or a drum set...

(Maybe they should have Canadian rock group "Rush" play next time...with only three guys in the band, all they have time for is singing and playing from the first note to the last.)

of course real music.

BTW, the finger incident. Hardly a big deal. I bet half the people watching didn't notice.

another suggestion: AC/DC

I wouldn't bet on that one. Remember when Angus used to moon the crowd?

The Dave Matthews Band should be on SOMEONE's half-time show, ANYBODY's half-time show. They're great live, imo. I've never heard of them lip syncing, as it just ain't their style anyways.
Sure miss Leroy (the saxophonist), though. RIP

Dave, Widespread, etc... good examples of real music.

Robert Randolph & the Family Band? Certainly!

(I heard a rumor that Mothers Finest may open for Lenny Kravitz on some of his tour this year...I saw MF last year and they still ROCK!)
