Hmmm. Don't people usually compare different versions of the same song?

Satchmo. Armstrong reckoned the first person who called him "Satchmo" was Percy Mathison Brooks, the editor of the Melody Maker. The Englishman was simply trying to get Armstrong's nickname "Satchelmouth" past his own drawl. One British critic described his savage growling as far removed from English as we speak or sing it - and as modern - as James Joyce.

Sam Cooke.

Though regarding the lyric: "For maybe by being an A student, baby, I can win your love for me." YEAH RIGHT. That's a good one!

(the rest of the lyrics are great, of course.)
