If you grew up in the Phoenix area in the 1950, 1960s, 1970 and 1980s you knew of The Wallace and Ladmo Show, which ran from 1954-1989, making it one of the longest-running locally-produced children's shows. Silly stuff, with a couple of parody bands, including Mike Condello and the Salt River Navy Band (which looks a lot like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band), the irony being that the Salt River generally dry. The "band" included Wallace (played by the late Bill Thompson) and Ladmo (played by the rubber-faced Ladimir Kwiatkowski) on strings and Pat McMahon, who played a number of characters on the show, on drums. Mike Condello was a serious musician who never was recognized for his talents.
This song from around 1967 is about soggy cereal, and how it's a Communist plot against breakfast.
