I'm a semi-metalhead,but I also listening mainstream music as well，and I don't consider myself as right wing,in fact I'm apolitical,and I'm against racism,xenophobia,ethno-centrism,etc,but I found many "folkish" people love metal or classic music and "look down" mainstream music,why?Are most pop music fans liberal/left wingers?Are there a higher percentage of right wingers among metal fans compare to fans of mainstream music?

I have never heard of the association between far right politics (it seems like you are using the term 'right wing' to mean racist/white nationalist) and metal (or classical music), but I don't doubt what you are saying - I have never been into metal so don't know what goes with that subculture.
I couldn't really give you a reason, but I do note that metal bands tend to be overwhelmingly white, whereas most mainstream popular artists tend to be either from racial minorities themselves, collaborate with minority artists, or perform in genres primarily associated with minorities. That could be a bit of a turn-off for your white ethno-nationalist types.
I myself am more into punk rock, which is also very white in terms of artists and fan base, but has always been associated more with left wing politics. Would be interesting to compare the origins and histories of punk and metal and see how they came to have such different political affiliations.

Thanks for sharing your views,but I don't think most mainstream popular artist tend to be "either from racial minorities themselves, collaborate with minority artists, or perform in genres primarily associated with minorities", for example,Britney Spears,Taylor Swift,Ke$ha,Katy Perry,Adele,Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are all white,and I don't consider their music genres associated with minorities either
I’m 51 and I can give you real reasons why we prefer certain types of music. First off, type of music isn’t exclusive in regards to social or political views. My problem with most modern music is volume and layers. Most of today’s music is studio recorded at the same high volume level. In older music, though studio recorded, they created layers of music with some instruments and background vocals recorded at different volume settings creating layers of sound. They use this technique to build up or bring down the emotional responsive in relation to the lyrics or the movement of the music. Even bands with singers who had poor quality vocals were able to better project the emotions of the song and bring the audience in for the ride at concerts without needing fancy dance moves and teams of backup dancers. Musical artist had to pay their dues through years of struggling at small venue live performances before making it big. This built their skills in music and live performances. Their musical talent was the star of the show. Much of today’s musical performers dance on stage to prerecorded versions of their own music and only occasionally use their own vocals in live concerts.
Most right wingers Ive known prefer classic rock or country.
