I've become the de-facto wedding planner for my daughter's upcoming wedding in October.
Long story short....
My daughter and her fiance will be getting married at a park lodge in the town where she grew up. She will have her former pastor officiate. I felt that she needed to some sort of music to at least begin the ceremony. I asked a former co-worker of mine who plays guitar/violin if she would consider taking the job. After my musician friend fell through, my daughter remembered that one of the wedding guests plays violin. Now my daughter wants to come up with a list of suggestions for wedding music.
I think the classical stuff has been overdone and is a little too formal for this venue--except for--thanks to Shrek--Hallelujah
I was thinking of something more contemporary--but contemporary to me is 70s-90s. Some I'm wondering what brides today are walking down the aisles to these days....
So far I came up with:
Grow Old [Along] With Me / John Lennon -- it would be instantly recognizable as a violin instrumental
Here's a version by Mary Chapin Carpenter
