Loretta was the Queen of Country Music. Other than Dolly Parton, I can't think of anyone who had more influence on Country Music. Maybe Patsy Cline is at #3. I can't imagine a world without either of them. We still have Dolly. But Loretta's lyrics were like little stories. Her 2005 album with Jack White is one of the greatest ever.

Loretta Lynn had an awesome career. Awesome. A career that lasted 62 years, that's right--62 years. I would have to check out the stats on Dolly Parton and will later but for the record (pun not intended) Loretta Lynn's solo lp's and her involvement with the duet lp's she made with Conway Twitty and Ernest Tubb is at 62. That's Roughly an album per year since she got into the business. She also had several dozen 45's go to number 1 on the country music charts. she captured 4 Grammys. And sold over 45 million albums.
She was not afraid to speak her mind at all. Svband76 is right regarding her lyrics as little stories. And here are a few off the top of my head--Rated X, The Pill, and Don't Come Home A Drinking With Loving On Your Mind. The Country Music upper crust kinda held their breath on those and most likely others.
Right now I'm watching ABC news with David Muir and I timed the amount he gave on the story of her passing. Over 4 minutes. At the end of the broadcast another two minutes of "Loretta Lynn-In Her own Words."
You can make an argument who the real "Queen Of Country Music" is/was. Yes, Kitty Wells was named that by the press. So was Tammy Wynette. She gotten that role, actually 'The First Lady of Country Music." As Dolly Parton is still going strong she most likely will pass Lynn as far as stats go. For now Loretta Lynn in my view just by the numbers is the most prolific country lady singer of all time.
She's up in heaven right now, looking for Tammy, Kitty, Conway, Ernie, and many, many others from her time of 60 years plus in the business. It says a lot to me that she toured as long as she did, 55 years or thereabouts. An amazing life, Loretta Lynn! And a life well lived. RIP--LL.
I'm not a huge fan of country music in general, but this gal had 57 years of touring under her belt, so that's an achievement. I'm sure she is up in heaven right now singing to the angels. RIP Loretta.
