^^ "Hot in the City", that's a good one. The cassette version differed from what I heard in the Phoenix area in 1982... When Mr. Idol yells out "New York!", for the Phoenix radio version he yelled out "Phoenix!". A couple months later on my way to Air Force training while in the Texas panhandle I heard a version where he yelled "Amarillo!" which was just plain weird.
They must have made a version for each market, back then I listened to Cleveland or Columbus stations, each town had its own version.
Similar thing happened with My Town by the Micheal Stanley Band in 1983. The band is from Cleveland Ohio and references things about the city in the song, east side vs west side competition for one. The original song, in the video below, does not mention the city by name, and I dont remember them inserting Cleveland into the song on Cleveland stations. But when I listend to Columbus stations they would shout out the city in the line "This town is my town...Columbus! All right".

I was stationed temporarily in Tucson in 83 and the Michael Stanley song played by radio stations there had that same version, with " Tucson" getting a shout-out
