I have been a fan of Duran Duran all of my life and think they have been incredably underrated in the last 20 years, simply because they were so overhyped in the 80s. People stopped listening except the die hard fans like me and it's a shame because they produce great songs, like this one from "Pop Trash"
This is another Duran Duran song from their debut album. I grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere and there was a hill behind the house that I used to climb as a kid. From the top I could see the highway that led eventually to civilisation. I would lie in the grass on the hill watching cars going to somewhere better (so I thought) with a walkman (yes, I'm that old) playing this song.
Here are two songs that Lenny did that had influence and or help. "Always On The Run" has Slash playing guitar for him. "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" was obviously influenced by a famous Jimi Hendrix riff. You will have to click both the links to hear them.
