I have no access to YouTube so I have no idea what y'all have been talking about already.

Immediately I think of 13th Floor Elevators, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Buffalo Springfield, Moby Grape, Love, Spirit -- and then wander to some more varied stuff like Hugh Masakela and the Friends of Distinction and Jimmy Cliff, all of whom were counterculture in their own right.

I loved Quicksilver, but never saw them in concert. They also had a great guitarist by the name of John Cipollina.

I can't overstate how much I love this next song and really the whole album.
I'm not really a Grateful Dead fan but damn...wow!

My ISP guy doesn't like me to use Youtube so I imagine he's been somewhat annoyed about me going to this site. It seems like everyone uses Youtube here for almost anything. (Music I totally get, but they use it to debate religion or philosophy too)

Oh I should have mentioned my ISP guy is my Dad. Also I understand his concern, he's a small town operation all on his own, and feel bad if it even sounds like complaining as he's in the hospital right now.

(Confession: Ironically I'm socially conservative and anti-counterculture, but they did produce neat music)
