I caught their free show last March when my brother and I were in New Orleans (only heard about it the day before). Mostly it just hammered home how powerful the right marketing gimmick can be, since it was basically all mediocre heavy metal, but everybody just ate it up. Or licked it up? "She" is probably my favorite song of theirs.

I went to the high school where Brooke Ostrander, their founding keyboard player, taught for years as the band director! He got asked to play in Kiss Unplugged, but he broke his foot and couldn't play piano.

OMG, Big Swede, lock up my browser much? No offense, but we're all capable of looking for KISS videos on YouTube. I think the purpose of the thread was to discuss the band.

Anyway, I've read all of their books thus far. Gene's are odes to his own ego, Ace's is the best, and Peter's is not bad, but it's obvious he's still harboring a lot of anger and resentment toward the other guys. Granted, he has a good reason to be angry, but he's what, 67? To borrow one of his own song titles, "Feel like letting go..." Also, Peter's book is kind of gross in places. I really didn't need to know about menstrual blood on Gene's teeth.

Paul is working on a book, and Ace says he's working on a second book, ostensibly to cover what he didn't talk about in the first one.

Speaking of Ace, I wonder what happened with the foreclosure? My hunch is that he doesn't live there, and it's just property his company owns, but who knows? Something to put in his next book, I suppose.
