If you're talking about the Pawleys Island Festival of Music, it depends a lot upon your taste in music. We used to attend some of the events, but haven't been in several years. The events stretch over a 2-week+ period. At one time several years ago, they had a broader mix of music that suited us better. Delbert McClinton headlined one year, and there used to be an ample dose of beach music and pop music bands mixed in. Prices were very reasonable, even free, for many of the performances.

In the last few years, it has gone decidedly high-brow, adding wine tastings, art shows, with more emphasis on jazz, orchestra music, chamber music, etc. Prices have also gone up. It's a popular event, and to its credit, the festival has re-created itself to suit the new Pawleys Island culture. In doing so, it left us behind. Overall, we prefer the Island Bar & Grill whenever we need a culture fix.

I see...well, this will require some thought. I was looking for something a little more on the "down low", myself.. but I do enjoy a wine tasting....

Have to agree with PawleysDude on this one, as usual. Island Bar & Grill is wonderful!

I heard that!

You better be careful where you say those things. One of your newly arrived neighbors may feel the need to improve your speech. An interesting thread from the NC forum - "Once again, corrected on pronunciation...."
