There is so much to do in Myrtle Beach and its surroundings that it is so misrepresenting to say there is nothing to love here.
I am going to post a few pictures we took with our guests this week. The new Skywheel is awesome, and a pleasureable ride.

The SkyWheel at night...Just starting to light up.

We had a great time on the Sky Wheel

The new Myrtle Beach...Renovated in stylish colors.

Really nice pictures. The Skywheel is a must do, though pricey.

Yes, enjoy each turn as you get 3 to 4 turns and thats it. But, it was fun and your so very high up.
The parking next door to it is 15.00 for two hours. For a moment there I thought I was back in Jersey...

Love your pictures, Summering, but I gotta say that when we were down in MB earlier this year and my mother-in-law wanted to ride the Sky Wheel, we were all suffering from extreme sticker shock when we looked up how much it cost to ride! Seriously, $13/person just to go around a couple of times? That's highway robbery! I was really glad that she refused to go once she saw the price, because the $52 that we saved bought us dinner at her favorite MB restaurant, good ole' K & W Cafeteria, which made a lot more sense than a couple of rotations in a ferris wheel for the same amount of money.

Our condo is a couple of miles north of the "main drag" section of S. Ocean Blvd., but when we drove down there one day to visit the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove just for old time's sake and had to pay $10 just to park in a lot a couple of blocks away from the Boardwalk, well, let's just say...we'll leave the "happening" end of the beach to the young'uns and the people who are rich enough to afford it, lol.

Yes, I agree and so did our family that the Wheel is too expensive. The cost for three to four turn arounds is crazy. The ride lasts only about ten minutes or less. The turns seem smooth and quick.
You mother-in-law might have asked for the senior rate which I think is about $7.00.
However the adult fee is too high for the fast trip. We wanted to try it once and thats about it. I don't see where I would go on it again. The worst part to me was the $15.00 parking for two hours collected ahead of time. We didn't even spend the two hours there.

I believe the high costs is what made Hard Rock go under. You can't charge someone to go on roller coasters and to eat at their restaurants. Not $50.00 anyhow. Yes, that was the cost to get in there. It lasted less then one year.

I agree with you. The North Myrtle and the South Myrtle are our favorite areas. Not because of funds though, but because it is calmer, more relaxed, less touristy and a wondderful place to be.
