We were thinking about moving near Southport NC for retirement at St James Plantation or Ocean Ridge Plantation near Sunset Beach but someone reccomended Pawleys Island area. Are there plantations-subdivisions for retirees in Pawleys like St James and Ocean Ridge Plantation there with golf courses and active social life?
If so, what are your reccomendations????

thanks in advance for replying..

I am a NJ State retiree happy in Murrells Inlet. We are surrounded by golf courses and a bike ride or short drive to the beach. Close to everything but quiet........

Many communities in Pawleys and Murrells Inlet are surrounded by golf courses. Seasons at Prince Creek markets itself specifically as a 55+ community so it may be what you are looking for. Here's a link.

PS--Taxes are cheaper in SC than NC. We had originally planned for NC but the difference in taxes helped us decide to shift a little further south.
