Alicia . . what brings you to Nashville? I moved down here from Simsbury, CT about a year ago. To me, TN is slower and friendlier . . . but smaller than CT. I say that because from anywhere in Connecticut you can get to Boston or New York in about 2 hours and those are MAJOR cities. Atlanta I think is the biggest city close to here and it's a 5 hour drive.

I do really love it down here and parts of it (rural) remind me of CT . . but the sky is bigger because the tress are shorter (see when you come!). August is a VERY hot month. Oh, and if you are driving, take 84 all the way to Scranton and catch 81 there. It's SO much less stressful than going through New York and New Jersey.

Everyone is right . . you should really find the job first or at least the AREA that feels most like where you want to be, first. 12 South, Hillsboro Village, East Nashville, Cool Springs . . . . if you need help locating these areas on a map, let us know. I have an acquaintance who lives downtown Nashville and LOVES it. I do enjoy going into the city (which is easier to navigate than Hartford) but not sure I could live there. But then, I am OLD!!!

Best of luck!

Thanks for the tips! I despise driving through new york! So thanks for the alternate route.
I love a lot of different types of music so I think that's a bid part of the draw for me. The quick commute to Boston and nyc for shows is one of the only things I really like about ct. Mostly, I'm just ready for a big change.
Thanks so much for the input. It's very awesome to get the perspective of someone coming from the same area as me. I'm not looking too forward to the heat, but other than that it sounds like exactly what I'm hoping for.

There are a lot of concerts and music in Nashville but some of the 'big' acts don't play here. Not sure why. I think some people dismiss it as JUST being "country". But Atalanta is a doable drive and most big acts will play there.

There are 4 seasons here. They are just allotted a different amount of days than they are in New England. I didn't wear a proper coat until the day before Thanksgiving. We DID have a white Christmas! I think March is when you no longer need a coat. It does get warm here pretty fast. I guess both years I have been here have been "unusual" but June has been in the 90's and it's traditionally in the 80's.

There can be a lot of traffic but I find it much less stressful than in CT. I'm all for Big Changes! All the best!

We used to get some of the bigger shows here before they shut down Starwood. Hopefully that will make a comeback.
