I'm considering having a alarm system installed in my home. Can anyone recommend some. I read some pretty bad reviews about ADT, and not going to bother with them. Thanks again for your help.

A friend of mine had them too quite sometime ago. She had no problems either, but I have read tons of bad reviews...so just don't want to get started with all of that. I'm glad you don't have any problems with them. What a pain that can be.

I have ADT also and we are super pleased. We just upgraded our system earlier this year and we now have cameras and we can pull them up on our smart phones or PC's at anytime and see what is going on; we can also set them to take pictures at certain intervals. We also can arm, disarm, turn lights on and off, etc. all from our smart phones or PC's in addition to a key fob or the key pad. The few times that the alarm has gone off I have gotten an instant text message as well as phone call and email!!!

Sadly, we decided to put a system in after something was stolen from the car in the driveway (I now lock the cars ALWAYS).

My husband is a techno-geek guy and did research and settled on Wireless Home Security Systems | FrontPointSecurity

The system works over cell technology so no phone wires for a burglar to cut. Lots of extra features available like fire and smoke, a panic button (the I've fallen and I can't get up type), glass breakage and motion detectors. You can buy your features ala carte so you only get what you need.

You cannot go wrong with NCA. I know the owner. Heck of a nice guy.

I've had wonderful experience with ADT over a 7 or 8 year period. I had a couple of alarm companies come give me presentations.

The one time a friend triggered my alarm, ADT called the police very promptly and they arrived my house within 4 minutes.

My ADT is wireless also; the only way to go these days. I also have a dog and plenty of firearms. Another thing I got that I absolutely love are security/storm doors. Larson Manufacturing

I'll second the NCA recommendation. It's certainly a lot cheaper than ADT, and of course there's something to be said for local vendors.
