Fayetteville has a charming downtown, and is a very east drive to Huntsville.
Lynnville, TN has great properties for horses.

Check out Mount Pleasant, lots of deer and dove hunting there. Also, Lawrenceburg. Both are not a tough drive away from Nashville.

so places south of Nashville and a north of Huntsville where these activities are possible would be great.
Columbia, Nolensville, Lewisburg, Eagleville.
