Hi! We are considering moving to Hendersonville. I'm just wondering what is your general opinion about the area?

I was just up there this wknd for a kids football game and it was nice. If I didn't have a job South of Nashville, I wouldn't mind living there because of the wonderful lakes and parks.

We have lived in Hendersonville for 8 years and it's been a good place for my wife and I to raise our two boys. The boys are 16 and 18 and have enjoyed growing up here and have made several friends. The city is really growing fast. My wife and I on the other hand have really had problems making any friends. I find this odd since we have lived a few different palces around the country without any problem? We will eventually be moving over to the Franklin area. We absolutley love it there. Seems to be more happening, culture, history, open minded people, etc..... etc... (housing is more expensive than Hendersonville though). I definately wouldn't rule out Hendersonville since it does have alot going for it and is right on Old Hickory lake.

I love it here! We came last year for the summer and ended up moving here this past March. We enjoy the lake and are fairly close to dt Nashville when the mood hits for some honky-tonkin. We've had no problem with making friends and I wouldn't consider moving anywhere ever again. Hope that helps

We're curious about this area too. Is there a downtown with some sort of culture/cafes/restaurants? What's the lake like? Can you swim in it?

There are cafes and restaurants but I'm not sure what you want as far as culture goes. The lake is beautiful and, yes, we swim in it. There are a number of marinas if you have a boat and it is not crowded even on the busiest of week-ends. I guess I could answer better if I had more specific questions, but if it helps any we moved here after living in San Diego and I wouldn't consider moving back.

We have noticed a lot of development going on as well. The Indian Lake Village (retail/commercial is supposed to be big). There is also a hospital being built on the Gallatin area I heard (Sumner Regional?)
