Hello, we are thinking to move from southeast Nashville to somewhere close to Vanderbilt. There is an apartment in Croley Wood area (near the Charlotte park) seems OK and fits our budget. I searched the crime report online, however, it looks like Croley Wood is not as safe as West end and Sylvan park. Can anyone here provide some information about the safety of Croley Wood please? Apartments on West end ave and in Sylvan park are so pricey that I can't afford. Thank you.

Croley Wood and Charlotte Park are OK safety-wise. Those are not areas where I have ever personally feared for my safety. The crime you'll probably see in those areas are perp on perp stuff, domestics and petty crime more than anything else. You may want to do more targeted research on specific apartment complexes in those areas. I'm sure there are some solid ones, but others can be a bit sketchy.

Which apartment complexes are you considering? How much can you spend? I had a friend who lived at one of the complexes on Premier Drive for a brief period. It was absolutely atrocious: really rundown with giant roaches. He ended up moving to East Nashville. I have another friend who rents a single-family home in Croley Wood and loves it.
