Hello everyone! First time posting. We will relocate to Nashville over the summer from Phoenix. We are thinking of things that we will miss so my search for a Cornish pasty company type of food has been started. Pasty, sounds like the word nasty. It is a meat pie that was used by Finnish miners in the upper peninsula where my wife is from. We used to have them FedEx to us. That is how much my wife enjoys them.

Does anyone know of any restaurants that sell Pasties in the Nashville area? Thank you in advance for any responses.

I used to live in upper Michigan, sorry to tell you I have never seen them here in Tennessee. I used to eat tons of them when I lived up there. Pasties really are an upper midwest regional food found mostly in Wisconsin and Michigan. Like you stated, they can be shipped, or you can pick them up if you make trips up there. Its a lot closer than it is in Phoenix.

Since I had to Google it, I assume that is not a good sign.

Fortunately we have lots of other local meat-and-dough-based combinations here, and hopefully you can find something new to enjoy.

Default Cornish pasty co

If you ever end up in Phoenix fo a visit, Cornish Pasty Co. has pasties. You can buy the original un cooked for 6 bucks and bring it home to bake. When we go, we eat there and always get a few to go. This saved me from ordering them from the U.P. every Christmas for my wife. I may have to learn how to bake. Once we get settled, I will see if a small mom and pop restaurant will add it to their menu.

I'm not sure they have Cornish Pasties and if they do, they will be frozen, but I have to alert people to this amazing store up in Cincinnati. There are two of them, I went to the newer one . . it is HUGE! I am not kidding that I spent two hours looking around. I swear - 100 different brands of imported butter! And frozen food from around the planet. Fresh veggies - odd things like sugar cane! Amazing place . . think World Market or K&S but 30 times as big. It would be a 5 hour drive but if you brought an ice chest, it might be worth it twice a year to go stock up on wild things!
