I appreciate your desire for discretion, but I don't have negative feelings about Tullahoma. It's a very nice town, but it will be a HUGE shift from what you're used to.

Have you been there?

Have you really checked into Chattanooga? It's not as large as Nashville, but it is a sizable town in its own right. They might not have as much that fits into your career, but I'm willing to bet they at least have something.

As for commuting 1.5 hours by train/subway vs. 1.5 hours by car...you're not driving the train. You can sit back, relax, read a book or newspaper, listen to music, whatever. Driving a car for 1.5 hours is a lot more intensive, just because you have to be so much more aware of what is going on. Have you thought about how much mental fatigue 3 hours of driving per day will do to you (on top of any work-related fatigue)?

Chattanooga is a cool town . . . outdoorsy, pretty, UT has a campus there.

Does anyone have any experience or advice? Much appreciated.

I recently saw an opportunity for an event planner at the new convention center... maybe on Nashville.gov

also try cnm.org the list assorted opportunities for non profits

good luck
