Hi all, I live in Lavergne and my two children attend Rock Springs School. Let me tell you that I partially agree with you about the schools. Rock Springs is the BEST school in Lavergne. They have the top rated scores in the county. And we are on the better side of Lavergne. As far as the other schools here are concerned, well you said it, there not good.

Just for my personal reference, where is the "better side" of Lavergne located? I know that I may have sounded like a smart butt, but I don't mean to sound that way. I sincerely want to know. Thanks!

Not to speak for her, but I would think the west side of I-24.

I subbed at Rock Springs once. I can't speak for the entire school, but the class I had was excellent.

The police department has been very proactive in educating the community, stepping up patrols, and adding enforcement officers.

Gangs are a reality, no matter where you live. Watch the news, read the police reports, and you'll see that they exist EVERYWHERE. You cannot avoid them.

Yes, Lake Forest Estates grew by practically giving homes away. Many of those people are now being forced to leave because they cannot make the mortgage payment. Plenty of respectable people live here and continue to move in.

My wife and I have family in Murfreesboro and Hendersonville. They look down upon La Vergne because they believe the media hype. I have seen just (if not more) as many stories about shootings, murders, rapes, and gang violence in their neighborhoods.
I've never heard this about Hendersonville.

Where did you "see" shootings, murders, rapes & gang violence ??

I agree. Although no place is immune from gang violence etc... you always hear more happening in LaVergne, especially in LFE, than Hendersonville or Murfreesboro. This is just my opinion, but if you drive through LFE, the majority of it has a very ghetto look to it.

You think LFE looks ghetto?

The thing that always puzzled me about LFE is that it looks like a really nice neighborhood - nothing like what gets reported out of there.

I guess I should be more specific. I think the older parts of LFE actually look okay. It's the newer parts that look ghetto to me. It seems like some cut-rate builders came in there and have built and are building cheap-looking, relatively inexpensive knock offs of homes built by the better builders.

Why are some homes in Smyrna zoned to Lavergne schools? Is it possible to be zoned to these schools and possibly pay to go to Smyrna schools?
