What are the best suburbs with large lots and good schools in the Nashville area? Minimum 1 Acre, but the more the merrier.

Budget of $600K.

Franklin and Brentwood do not have much to offer at that price point.

Also, is this list fairly accurate?

I think it's skewed a little more towards smaller developing towns than your actual suburbs. Not that those aren't good places to live....but half of them don't offer the type of amenities most people look to have "in town".

I also question if the people doing the write up are even vaguely familiar with the area...they keep mentioning craftsman, Tudor, farmhouse, and colonial style homes as if they are prevalent in these suburbs. They are not.

Yes, i would consider list to be pretty accurate.

I think the fact they buried school rankings as a portion of one subset of the rankings is a flaw in the analysis. A large portion of where families move and the resale value of those homes lies in the perceived value of the school districts.

I agree with nashvols' analysis of the reviewers. Those tiny towns on the outskirts are not exactly happening places.

Ashland City has the most amenities of any suburb based on their #1 rating? I'm guessing the author has never been to Ashland City.

Finally, to not have Franklin somewhere on this list while listing Lebanon as a suburb makes this list suspect to me. If they put Franklin 19th on the list, I could get it. But since Franklin is the home of amenities, good schools and lots of parks, the absence is glaring.

I agree that Franklin should have made the rankings. Probably falling somewhere in the Top 5.

The tiny towns mentioned in the link are not big, but are gaining popularity. Ashland City was ranked pretty low on the overall list but they might have given a higher amenity score for its close proximity to downtown Nashville (with little to no traffic) and being on the Cumberland river with water activities. However, Ashland City is rather dull and I can't see this being a place transplants would want to move to.
