Both are great areas with very low crime. Hendersonville is MUCH more affordable than Brentwood. You would be hard pressed to find a two-bedroom anything, even an apartment, for less than $1000/month in Brentwood. Hendersonville prices run the full gamut.

Regarding the economy, Nashville certainly isn't immune to the nationwide downturn, but we are faring better than a lot of places. How easily your husband will find work will depend on many factors such as what field he is in and what his qualifications are. I know several people who have moved to this area since the recession started and all of them found good jobs within a reasonable period of time. You just have to pound the pavement and sell yourself!

I'm currently renting in Hville. My home was built in 2000, has 3 bedrooms,a large bonus room and 2 car garage and I pay 1100 a month. The home is all-brick and has a nice sized back yard. When I was looking, older homes were going for as low as $850 but there were nicer homes going all the way up to 4000-5000 per month! The pet deposit was $300.

You should definitely be looking in Hendersonville, then. Brentwood to Hendersonville would be a haul.

I would in Hendersonville or even in actual Nashville (in the downtown area). But not Brentwood. Everything is more expensive there (groceries, gas, rent, etc.). Not that it isn't a lovely town, but if you are working in Hendersonville there would be no reason to live so far away. The land out towards Gallatin and Hendersonville is really nice. Lot's of trees. They are also doing a lot of development out there. I wouldn't worry about moving to Nashville. My husband and I have to leave here in May and move to Atlanta and we are beside ourselves. We have both really, really loved Nashville.

I am just worried they will try to sue us for the rest of the lease you know maybe not we will see . My boss says not to worry because we will not be going untill december when my lease is up but not sure want to move in december to tennessee does it snow bad in hendersonville ? or surrounding area ?

Rarely ever snows at all. And, if it does, it is usually not until January or February. I wouldn't worry about the snow. In December we will still have days in the upper 60s sometimes.

It doesn't snow much in Hendersonville but if you have kids, expect a lot of snow days. In the northern parts of the county there seems to be plenty of snow and ice throughout the winter.
