We're recent transplants from Dallas to Clarksville. I love Tennessee for the most part, but miss the shopping in Dallas. We drive to Nashville often to visit friends and family, but I'm still exploring and searching.

Is there an Indian food market in Nashville or towns north of Nashville? Specifically, I'm looking for Indian groceries (naan, canned palak or mutter paneer, fresh paneer, chickpea flour, etc).

Also, can anyone recommend a pork cookbook? I would especially like to know how to cook the ham cuts I see in all the grocery stores here.

Thanks.

There is an Indian grocer in Franklin on Carothers.

No clue about the pork, but I'm always amazed at the number of pork cuts there are here compared to the northeast, yet the butcher at the grocery store looks at me like I'm crazy when I asked for Steak Tips.

Same here. So many of the common beef dishes in Texas are not so common here. I'm a native Texas with chicken fried steak withdrawl. And I'm learning to like pork BBQ as much as smoked beef brisket...almost.

Thanks, I'll check that one out again. It had limited stock when I was there a few months ago.

What a great link. I've printed out the lists and will call them all before we head back to Nashville next. Thanks!
