rmcewan is right on view/waterfront taxes. It's simply more because they sell for more. Keep in mind people, the Town Assessor has to back up the assessment of your house by comparable sales. If you feel your home is over assessed you can file an abatement.

If people would stop complaining on how much they pay on property taxes and start complaining to the town for wasteful spending your taxes wouldn't be going up so fast. You guys vote for the people who are spending your money. It's a pretty simple solution.

Quite right - no matter which side of the political fence you're on. I can't stand wasteful spending, or poor cost control because of bad management.
