Well I am not sure about individual festivals-but when fair season comes-late in summer/early fall they usually have sheep shearing for the public to watch. I know at the Hopkinton State Fair-around Labor Day weekend-they have the 4-H kids do all the events and sheep shearing is one of them. They also have workshops that show them take what they shear from the sheep and spin it on looms, etc-at least they did in the past. Pretty neat.
I just thought of something else-perhaps around July 4th keep your eyes open-some towns might offer something like this when they have their festivities. At least that would be sooner than fair season.
The Sheep and Wool festival on Mothers Day weekend.
It's held at the Hopkington fairgrounds.
We'll have our Cheviots and Southdowns there. Stop by and say hello.
