Gelato is an Italian version of ice cream. Very rich & dense , but lower in fat. I make my own at home, as it can be hard to find. Delicious!

One article says the reason the flavors are more intense is because of the lower fat content- it doesn't coat your toungue so you get to experience more of the flavor.
