We are coming up to Bedford this weekend with the kids and would like to take them strawberry picking. What are the best U-Pick farms in the Bedford area?

If you want to go a bit further north I know Apple Hill Orchard in Concord has Upick strawberries. The picking season started on June 15.

For that mattter, if you come out west to Hollis, Brookdale has U-pick fields (there's one right beside the shop on Rt 130/Broad St), not sure about Lull's.

You can pick delicious strawberries at Lull Farms bountiful strawberry field at the corner of Rte 130 and Rideout/Nartoff in Hollis Their little stand also sells baking soda biscuits for strawberry shortcake and strawberry husking tools. Sometimes there are deer across 130 or across the other side of Rideout.

Some other U-Pick farms not in Bedford are found in Londonderry. Sunnycrest Farm on High Range Road (picking field is on Adams Road) and Elwood Farm on Elwood Road are both open for strawberry picking. All of this rain with so little sun can't be very good for the berries. I'm expecting that the first sunny morning will see the berry patches full of pickers and I hope to be one of them!

Thank you everyone - we wound up going to Brookdale and they were delicious. The shop is really cute also. Can't wait to explore the other farms mentioned as well, once we move up there, which is looking like sometime in August.

I went picking at 8 AM this morning at Sunnycrest in Londonderry. Berries are smaller than I expected, but very sweet. Homemade biscuit strawberry shortcake for Father's Day dessert. Mmmmm Good Now if we can just a couple days of sunshine, the berry picking will be fantastic!!!
