Salem County feels like another state down here, i guess lol.

Many of us who live here have found job opportunites in Delaware, which is not that far 'over the bridge,' I worked there for many years.

We are Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers fans. Many are still farmers. Many worked at DuPonts thru the years. Or the nuclear plant.

If i had to live in Jersey (which i do right now - and have my whole life), i'd choose Salem County or Cape May County.

We have friends from Brick and they have lived there all their lives. They are from SOUTH Jersey.. so they say.. Honest. I consider then central.

But where it gets confusing is Ocean County. Geographically, the southern parts of the county are equally or further south than Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem counties, but for some reason it's often categorized as part of Central Jersey.

I've heard, over the years, that some people in Brick Twp consider themselves to be in South Jersey.

I have always held that the deciding factor whether you're in south or north jersey is TV - if you turn on your local ABC, NBC, CBS affiliate news, is it from Philly or NY? If you're getting NY news and your local station airs the Giants game every Sunday, you're in north Jersey, if Hurricane Schwartz does your weather and you see the Eagles every Sunday you're in south.

I used to say the same thing...but apparently some people get both!

I had no idea! Then I guess those folk are the mysterious "Central NJ" dwellers, and can't be part of north OR south!

This is totally unscientific, but if you drew a line across the state east from Burlington, what's on top is north and bottom is south. Depending on your preference, you could adjust the latitude and starting point---say draw a line west from Tom's River... I've heard rumors of Central Jersey but as a native it was always north or south to me...

Brick is right on the borderline. That's a tough call, but I'd say north...
