Well, we're officially the most talked about state in the nation (as far as trash talking goes).
Jersey Shore season 3 will burn us all winter longs- The media is degrading the true, great Italian culture we have.
Anyway, this thread is in honor of the REAL Jersey Shore we all grew up to know.
Wildwood, more rides than Disney.
Atlantic City, first and longest boardwalk in the world.
Long Beach Island, the birth place of Ron Jon Surf Shop.
Seaside Heights, where NYC comes down to party every summer. (awesome food too)
Cape May, one of the first coastal resorts in the nation.
Asbury Park, Home of the Stone Pony

I love the Jersey Shore. I go to the beach about 300 days a year, walk different towns boardwalks. I thought the Jersey Shore was only about Snooki and the Situation though.

Island Beach Park, Point Pleasant, Avalon and Stone Harbor are also nice as are many more towns along the shore. Most have something appealing and unique about them that make for nice visits.
As someone born and raised in the Shore area, I must say that Seaside Heights is part of the REAL Shore area too.
I know I'm in the minority but the MTV show never offended me. It is what it is. People from a number of regions come and party here for a few months a year. Seaside is one of the last true places like that since most Shore towns are becoming primarily year-round communities and I don't think it's a bad thing that there are bars, clubs and general debauchery in one town. People need a place to party, and if Seaside Heights fills that role, so be it.
At this point, Rt. 37 looks like any major roadway in North Jersey, and even the once-barren Rt. 72 in Manahawkin is starting to resemble Paramus with tons and tons and tons of stores.

I'll show my age again. That stretch of 72 had the Manahawkin airport which had some dirt runways and the Rt.72 drive in where we took turns hiding in the trunk to save a few bucks.

...and one traffic light which flashed most of the time.
