Are you sure about that?
The only SRs that I recall are the aforementioned one at 26th & C, and the "downtown SR", located on C, somewhere below 8th St.
At Broadway & 20th St, there was an indy market named Dairy Maid, but I believe that it closed somewhere in the mid-late 60s. And, of course, there was the market that you mentioned on Broadway, at 34th or 35th St.
Oh...and there is (was?) the Acme, at the city line, but that location is actually in Jersey City, rather than Bayonne.

Not 100% sure but I vaguely remember one.
Acme is closed. All my friends worked there. I got harassed by a drunk JC cop once there.
Ladies--The store name was actually, "Finast", which was an acronym for First National Stores.
My brother worked for them in their (rat-infested) warehouse division, which was located in South Kearney.
IIRC, their Bayonne retail location was on 8th Street, between the Boulevard & Avenue C.
That store later became an IGA market by the name of Pagano's.
Ah, still don't remember where I saw one, but I do remember seeing one somewhere. Definitely wasn't Bayonne.

Hey, I worked as a cashier (and then a SUPERVISOR of cashiers, woo-hoo) at the Paramus Channel in high school and then full-time for a year after graduation. Say 1975 - 1977. Maybe I rang you up.
Shop Rite in Lyndhurst is the King of Queens. Personally I go to the one in Nutley.
