I'm looking for places to live in Jersey. I'm from the Bronx and I'm looking to upgrade my living situation. I would like it be in a nice area, near NJ transit as I work in NYC and dont own a car yet. I'm looking to pay in the range of 800-1000 a month. What are some towns I should be looking at?

Thanks.
You won't be able to upgrade your living situation on that kind of rent. $800 - $1000 a month and "nice area" are not compatible phrases. As a matter of fact, you'd probably have difficulty finding rent that cheap in a not-nice area.
Look at the NJ Transit schedules, figure out how long of a commute you are willing to bear, and then check out rentals on move.com or NJBestRent.com in the towns along that commuting time frame.
If you are thinking of some place like Jersey City or Newark, which have access to the PATH system, maybe you could search through this forum and find out what areas are the least problematic. That subject's been discussed a few times so there's likely some good info buried in old threads.
It depends on what you're looking to get for your $. A 1br? How far are you willing to commute?
Do you need more space than that? Do you have a family/kids, and are looking at school systems too?
These factors are important in trying to find a place. Give a little more info and maybe one of us can point you in a good direction.
Try Brookchester apartments in new Milford NJ maybe 15-20 minutes away. I have lived here 2 years and have no complaints in my experience. Cozy studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apt. 1 bedroom is $950 with first month rent free and is pet friendly! Safe neighborhood pretty quiet around my complex. The only small issue is the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors other than that it's been a pleasant experience. There is a bus line right in front of some of the apartments but not sure which ones but the commute would be around 30-45min depending on rush hour. They have a website you can check it out for yourself. Brookchester Apartments in Bergen County, New Milford, New Jersey. We offer studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartment. Good luck!
...and apparently, if you live there and can bring in new tenants, you get some kind of reward! Or else you're the rental agent...
Geez, this is the third post you've spammed this same info in.
