I'm looking for suggestions on where/ how to sell a diamond engagement ring outside of Ebay & Craigslist.

Anyone have any ideas?

Take it to a local jewelery store or one at the mall.

I tried Jewelery exchange and they dont give you anything. I brough 3 white gold with diamonds, ring, necklace, etc and they wanted to give me only $50. I just kept it. It's not even worth it.
Let me know if you find a good place :-)

I feel ebay is probably a better place than local jewellers to sell your jewelleries. Make sure you include pictures of certificates (GIA/AGL etc.) in your listings. I typically can sell my items really fast on ebay.

You can get a rough idea of how much your diamond is worth from a rapaport diamond report (one of the most authorative diamond price guides online), which can be easily googled. But keep in mind that rapaport diamond report is based on GIA grading standards, (e.g. vs. EGL etc.)

Good luck.

E-bay is your best bet to get the best price since you actually have a chance to sell it to a consumer rather than a re-seller(who is obviously looking to make a profit). My brother is in the jewelery business and I can tell you this:

-Your appraisal means nothing.
-Always make sure that you go to at least 3 places to get the price they will give you
-The stone is what is valuable, you'll get pennies on the dollar for the actual ring even if its platinum or 18K white gold with small side stones.
-You must have the GIA certificate

Blue Nile is a great site to see the price range that your diamond is selling for on the retail market, of course you can't expect to get this price for it but it's good information to have.

Search for Diamonds - Diamonds by Shape, Size, Quality & Price - Blue Nile

Which looks like anywhere from $5500 to $6500.
