The metro-north most trains are express to get to the nearest station OP will need to use a local train. But I said backtrack if with express train. Service to tremont is very limited and the hudson station is nowhere near the OP's worksite thats what I meant. Metro-north is multi tiered but since you know trains I assume you already know that. The fact is the OP can still choose englewood cliffs as it only requires 2 short bus rides on the 186 and BX11 lines which drop him off 2 blocks from his worksite. Or he can use beeline to get to the 4 however one problem the 20 is slow and train service to tremont is horrid. However since its to the bronx I assume the monthly price isnt sky high at the end its up to the OP to choose what he wants all we can do if give possibilities and suggestions. If he wants englewood cliffs then that requires 2 buses each with a very short trip and 186 is literally on the other side of the bridge or he can choose westchester. I am not knocking ur advice just saying it as it is whatever he wants is what he will do at the end of the day. Stay calm ppl

The 186 does not use the cross bronx FYI as soon as it gets on the bridge it immediely hits the bus terminal in manhattan it also doesnt hit I-95 either click here and read it before replying. From englewood cliffs that is a very short ride. There are no buses on the cross bronx for that reason also the BX11 doesnt use the cross bronx it uses side roads and bypasses the mess. Visit NYC and take a look into what I mean click here for the NJ line http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0186.pdf look at the bronx bus map and you will know what I am saying really short rides.

wrong the westchester buses go nowhere near the lebanon hospital. and with the train he still needs to walk 7 blocks or take a bus on the concourse. 2 buses looks like too much but it really is not use logic here not bus vs rail but pure logic in terms of travel options the Bx11 avoids the I-95 mess and is right outside the bus terminal. Also the 186 is a 10 minute ride from englewood cliffs and directly enters the bridge as it begins. So 10 mins from terminal really isnt 2 much. You clearly havent used these methods so you dont know I speak from experience. Cause I did this several times before. The BX11 is super frequent and is 2 blocks from the OP worksite to travel time is much shorter. The OP will only use the BX11 to the concourse rather than the full route so he doesnt even reach the slow part. When you only know trains and have a stigma towards one mode of travel you will never see all the different methods and even a simple commute will look difficult cause its not the mode you like. Dont complicate things that aren't
