We took our 6 month old daughter here yesterday and became members. I really wanted to join to help support a local org, as my daughter is way too young to know where we were. Anyway, it is a nice, small zoo with a good farm animal section, carousel, and train. Parking was easy, and it seemed clean. We were disappointed in how unhelpful the staff were, especially about membership and other zoos that reciprocate membership. Nobody knew nor cared to help. Also, we heard some staff yelling very loudly at people, like parents anand little kids in the aviary section. It made us very uncomfortable and we left shortly thereafter.

I hope that our future visits are more enjoyable. Please tell me your experiences!

We also have a membership. We dont expect too much, its a zoo. My daughter is too young to enjoy it but my 3yr son loves it. I dont care much about the staff since i never needed assistance or care to ask questions. It does get crowded at times and parking can be a pain. best of all with a memebership youwont feel the need to stay there all day since you can easily come back any time you want.

TB Zoo is ok if your kid likes zoos. My kids only like the gift shops at zoos. If I have to go to a zoo I like Van Saun better, at least it's flat.

you should write a short letter to management about the staff. be polite, and maybe it will help them improve. i live nearby and can't wait to take my son. he's only 3 months old now, so will wait a little while longer.

Yea, and tell them the food sucks. Don't mind paying the zoo prices, but I do not think they could make it worse if they tried

Wait like five years
Just kidding. Seriously, I think if you want to see a zoo, just trek to the Bronx Zoo. The little zoos are really boring.

The Turtle Back is a nice little zoo. Who wants to drive out to the Bronx? Not me.

My young children love it, and for homeschoolers like us, it affords a nice field trip on a whim.

oh i loved the little petting zoos near my hometown when i was little. i'm 2 miles from turtle back. it'll be worth visiting from time to time with him. bigger zoos are a bigger ordeal, so less frequent. i love the philly zoo!

It sure does but they don't force you to buy food. Pack your own stuff next time.
