$10 a guy if they do an okay job without damage.. $20 each if they offer to cover the floors, protect corners and make sure everything is done very carefully... too many times have I Seen guys take a corner of sheetrock or nick the corners of stuff on a door/wood floor/etc.
Not at all, I just appreciate guys who work their butts off and do a good job. You take care of the pros who come to your house, they remember it and will take care of you.
$0. You already paid $80 on top of their already high price. The price of delivery is already build into the mattress. If you can charge again, you are getting rid off.

I think you mean 'ripped off'.
I guess different companies pay their delivery people different amounts. Maybe large companies pay better, have unions, etc. Maybe small 'mom and pop' shops don't pay that well and delivery people should be tipped. I don't know.
Yes always tip the delivery guys. If they set up your new mattress set of course I always tip them because most places set up isn't inculded its just drop off. They deserve to be tipped if they set up the mattress for you or any of your furniture. The delivery charge most places charge is just to cover gas.
I cant believe people base their tips on if they pay a delivery fee or not. These guys do not get that money. So why should it matter. With that said, I tip new furniture delivery $0, and 20%+ at restaurants. It is part of their job to carry things up the steps and not to break anything. In the rare case where they go out of their way to do something special, I will give them some money (like if they take the trash away even though it was not part of the service). With that said, just had bedroom furniture delivered and paid for "assmebly". I wasn't home, but they told my wife they do not put on the guard rails. They also did not put on the dresser knobs. I was pissed and complained because I know they were suppose to, and it took me 45 minutes to install stuff, clean up the boxes and tie them up for recycling and the styrofoan took up 2 trashcans (and I only get 2 at a time since I pay for the service). I am REALLY glad my wife didn't tip them
I generally tip $10-$20 for furniture delivery. One time left money with gf for delivery while I was at work. The driver came and wanted $20 for "2nd story delivery", well that was his tip. I generally tip pizza delivery @15-20% along with wait staff.
Years ago when you went into a Dunkin Donuts there was never a "tip jar" in plain sight, now they're just about everywhere.
Maids in hotels/motels get a couple of dollars, $10 a day is really overly generous. I've worked a lot of service jobs and never got anything. I think some things have really gotten out of hand.
my tip is you did a good job, keep it up and you will keep the job and continue to get paid for what you are paid to do. Its ridiculous everyone has their hands open like this, and most of america is brainwashed into thinking that they have to reluctantly participate, in fear of looking cheap to others. absolutely ridiculous. I'm just saying what most of you are thinking.
