I posted this in the moving and renting forum but have received only one response so I am hoping some experts here can offer some advice.

I am trying to help someone move out their apartment complex which is in NJ. But apparently the management company of the complex rules with an iron fist and I am getting two different stories and nothing in writing. The main manager says no storage containers at all, the maintenance manager on another occasion says its 48 hours, then after 48 hours, the unit is considered "abandoned".

The only alternative was paying the ratpack driver per hour until the box was loaded up. But that is steep at $60/hr min.

Has anyone run into this issue in an apartment complex? I tried looking up State tenants rights, but this parking situation seems more of a management/property issue than anything else. Just a note, this is not city/town street parking. This is private property parking. Any ideas if there is a law regarding this? This is a real pain.

Thanks!

Most people rent one of those rental trucks like a Ryder or similar which I rented a year or two ago for maybe $100 and wound up keeping it for the weekend.
