Oops, I guess I made that post in the " harrison redevelopment of an industrial park" thread prematurely.

Something I dont understand: Did the town expect to tax the developers and Red Bull after everything was built to make money? Are the developers and Red Bull now arguing that because the Harrison Redevelopment Agency owns the land, they dont have to pay any taxes. Or are the developers and Red Bull not remitting taxes because they cant afford it and dont want to pay? If it is the former, why was this loophole not closed before all the signatures?

I almost moved to Harrison before I signed the lease here. I've heard about the city going broke and people told me to avoid it in case the town decided to tax the hell out of the residents. I shouldn't of listened to those people though, the place has a great sense of community. Great food. Ideal location. Me movig there is what the town needed (growth) Give the town more time and it could be the Hoboken of Newark(As Hoboken is to JC)
It's not like it's a hopeless place. Go to East Rutherford and look at that stack of shipping crates, I mean "mall" that was supposed to open in 2009, no 2011, wait.....

The developers have not paid. They need to pay when they build and they have set dates to build, so therefore teh have set dates to pay. However, due to a number of circumstances some have been able to forestall those dates well beyond the contractual obligation.

This is the root of the problem for Harrison - Missed Deadlines.
