LOL. Where did you live that kids threw eggs and slurpees (did they have to be cherry???) at pedestrians?

Haha I guess Cherry stains the worst...? Walking with my friends to/from town were the eggings. Up in the heights was the Slurpee. And that was just me. I knew many stories of this happening when I was growing up. This was years ago of course. All happened on beatiful summer nights - exactly when it's nicest to be out and walking in Ridgewood. It was probably mostly kids who just got their licenses and new cars.

I gather this was kids on kids ? Not kids on adults/families as I gather I wouldn't take it so lightly if I was bombarded by some kid(s) looking to be funny at my expense.

Rochie, I live in Glen Rock, I'm Colombian (Wife is not) and I love it here. Kids love it as well and I have found the surrounding areas to be much more diverse (racially) than what I originally suspected. Financial wealth/differences, I think, will be the biggest things you will note in these towns --home(s), car(s), vacations, 'extras'. Some flaunt it, others don't. Some have it. Others don't have as much but those are subtle things you start to notice when you really look into your surroundings.

But overall, I feel very welcomed and my family has never thought otherwise. We also have our daughters enrolled in an after school Spanish program in Ridgewood, so there are plenty of options to share in the culture/experience...

Thanks for your input. That is really good to hear about your experiences.

And yes, the eggings/slurpees were kids on kids.
