The tone of the posts seemed to be that because no one cared about those other cases, Trayvon doesn't deserve people protesting for him. I don't think an innocent kid with candy and iced tea getting shot for no reason equates to someone's coffee not being hot enough.
i dont think he deserves people protesting for him regardless of what happened in any other cases. but its their right to protest and their lack of jobs that affords them the time to protest. so protest away!

Who said Trayvon doesn't deserve people protesting him?
We were talking about people complaining about double standards.
Aside from blatant and irresponsible news media propaganda to incite riots and divide the nation, people from other states are oblivious to the legal differences between FL and the rest of the country.
FL has a unique self defense law which makes the situation dramatically different and so what you would expect to happen in NJ or Iowa is not going to happen in FL.
It is a matter of legal differences being ignored by self promoting activists and news media intended to compliment the class warfare strategy in hope of winning an election in November.
Protest all you want but do it from a position of awareness and do not become the dupe of a politcal agenda and an irresponsible, if not criminal, news media turned propaganda machine.

uh oh, i just said that. but it was after her last post. i also qualified it by saying that regardless of my opinion, people who wish to protest have the right to.

i do think nj residents should protest that we do not have the same rights to defend ourselves that florida residents have.

You don't know if he was "innocent" or if he was "shot for no reason." If people get their information from CNN with a picture of Martin riding a horse and Zimmerman in a jumper they might think that. But the actual police report indicates that Zimmerman was pinned on his back and had injuries. Martin was also about 6'2 or 6'3, not 5'5 like in his media pictures.

Nor the picture when he was 12 years old as the media has shown.
It's truly sad that the media (including NBC) has fueled this fire.

you gotta love that the kid was 17 years old and all the pictures they were showing of him were at about 12 years old. i guess he didnt look so sweet and innocent at 17.
i can sympathize with him though, i used to walk around with skittles all the time when i was a kid. id hate for someone to shoot me dead when all i had was some skittles (sour skittles are my favorite). of course, i dont walk through other people's gated communities and i dont beat the crap out of people who are following me. not that im saying i can make a final judgment on the case, nobody in the general public can at this point.
