I stumbled upon these lakes recently while looking at Google Maps planning a hike on Hamburg Mountain. They don't seem to be typical NJ lake communities (year round communities where residents own their land) but rather some type of leasing arrangement. There are a few homes for sale (the homes are owned but the land is not) on Lake Gerard but nothing on Beaver Lake that I can find. In internet searches I managed to find some obituaries of folks who had homes at Beaver Lake and all were a kind of who's who of the well-to-do in NJ. Ivy League graduates, high powered corporate types, etc... Both of these lakes look absolutely gorgeous-yet another hidden curiosity in the Jersey Highlands. I was just wondering if any city-data members knew anything about these little communities.
