Hello people,

I recently completed my graduate studies and landed a job in Montvale, NJ. My friend that I will be living with has a job in Philadelphia, PA. As such, we are looking to find a good locale to stay together and commute to our work from a central point. I will travel by car while she will use either NJ transit or Amtrak. Therefore, a central location is what we're looking at. Shortlisted New Brunswick, Edison and Highland Park as possible locations, and have been hearing mixed reviews regarding safety, quality of life etc. on the web. I would love to hear thoughts from locals on the following points:

Recommended Location (even if other than my shortlists), Recommended areas to stay at within recommended location for safety and within walking distance to the train station, Nightlife, Recommended apartment complexes to rent a 2 BR apartment with a budget of about $1500, Parking Issues.

I'd be extremely grateful for any advice, especially since I'll be moving in the next week. Thanks in advance.

If you work for a company in Montvale that has 3 initials that make up the name, don't bank on having a job long lol.
